She did what many people do — found her answer online, in a blog. The blog praised a product by Annie Sloan, the inventor of Chalk Paint®, who is in Oxford, England.
Janet actually reached out to Annie Sloan, and she loved the product idea and reviews so much she became a stockist for the Chalk Paint® brand.

Janet opened her own store in 2012 but wasted no time hopping on creating her own store, TLC Vintage Collection LLC. It began quickly as an online marketplace serving neighboring states. She rented booth space at the Brass Armadillo antiques mall right in Des Moines.
Within a short seven months of starting to sell the Annie Sloan line, Janet opened her store at 7518 Hickman Road at Sherwood Forest Shopping Center.
She is joined in the store by her husband, Dan Piller, and Mary Lou Killebrew. Each is encyclopedic in their knowledge on the paint and finishing options. Another drawing point of the store is the backdrop of ideas that are present all around the sales area.
Take in new ways to restyle furniture, cabinets, concrete, and woodwork.
